Afton Lee Carson entered his heavenly home on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 81. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Afton was born September 12, 1941, in Uniontown, Arkansas, to Samual Delbert Carson and Erma Melissa (Hood) Carson. He graduated from Cedarville High School in 1960. Afton started working at a young age. According to his high school sweetheart, Beulah, he would leave and go to Tulsa in the summers to work and return during the school year. After high school, Afton moved to Tulsa.   CE Invalco is where he met his future bride, Ila Rae Young. They were united in marriage on August 21, 1981, in Miami, and made their home in Owasso in 1982.

His hard work and excellent work ethic followed him all of his years. He was meticulous and talented in his mechanical abilities. Afton retired from FloServe.

After Ila passed away in 1998, Afton was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Beulah, and he decided to move to Alma, Arkansas, in 2021. They picked up where they left off and enjoyed each other's companionship.

Afton was a strong, proud, private man, who was very caring. He was a dedicated member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Afton owned several sports cars over the years involving Mustangs and Corvettes, and enjoyed taking them for drives. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, watching football and attending Talon's games.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ila; his parents, Delbert and Erma Carson;  siblings: J.M. Carson, Edward Carson, Don Carson, and Delilah Carson; and in-laws: Robert Young, Linda and Jim McKee, Billy Gene Young, Joetta and Lester Erwin, and Lloyd Freeman.

Survivors include his children: Lowell and Michelle; step-children: Dena Keith and husband, Kevin, Teresa Jakubowski, Margaret Goswick, and Charles Goswick and wife, Donna; siblings: Merl Samples, and Betty Brantley; step-grandchildren: Brandon Goswick, Paul Trout, April Hatch, Adam Trout, John Jakubowski, Kristin Chambers, Lauren Stevens, Alisha Gerber, Brittnea Keith and Jason Jakubowski; great-step-grandchildren: Alexa, Morgan, Johnathan,  Karston, Ellyse, Bryker, Scarlett,  Eden, Emmie, Everleigh, Ellie, Jaden, Issac, Amelia, Adam, Michael, Peyton, Jasmine, Madison, Edward, Brielle, Kiaser; and in-laws: Roydean and Lucy Young, Helen Freeman, and Margie Young.

Ila passed away from breast cancer, and the family requests memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380; or Afton's church, Eastwood Baptist Church, 948 S 91st East Ave, Tulsa, OK 74112-4824.
