Allen Arthur Bordelon, 97, a loving husband, devoted father, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully in his home on November 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 10, 1926, in Hessmer, Louisiana, to Leon Napoleon Bordelon and Mercedez Marie (Chatelaine) Bordelon.

Allen's life was marked by a deep commitment to his work, family, and service to his country. He served his nation during World War II in the U.S. Army, stationed in the Philippines from 1944 to 1946. Upon his return, he embarked on a career journey, starting as a clerk at the local VA hospital and later pursued higher education at Louisiana College under the GI Bill, earning his bachelor's degree.

On February 6, 1949, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Fontane, at the Catholic Church in Hessmer, LA. They shared 74 beautiful years together, building a family and creating lasting memories.

Allen's professional career led him to the Cities Service Oil Company, where he worked in accounting. His dedication saw him relocate from Shreveport, Louisiana, to Bartlesville in 1961, then to the Tulsa office in 1971. The family eventually settled in Sand Springs, where they made their home. Allen retired after 35 years with Cities Service as head of oil and gas accounting. After retirement he spent more than 10 years volunteering for the American Red Cross.

An avid outdoorsman, Allen found joy in fishing, camping, and duck hunting. He had a passion for the Cajun card game of Boure', and he found special joy in changing the rules in his favor. Allen and Pat were enthusiastic square dancers and enjoyed traveling to state and national conventions. Throughout their marriage, they found immeasurable happiness in family camping trips and RV travel.

Allen was known for his larger-than-life stories and his unwavering love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His homecoming from work often meant playtime and laughter with the younger members of the family.

A man of faith, Allen was a devoted member of the Sand Springs United Methodist Church, finding particular joy in the men's prayer breakfasts at the Crescent Cafe in Prattville.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Bordelon; and children: Karen Bordelon of Commerce City, CO, Michael Bordelon and wife, Laure of Silverton, OR, and Bruce Bordelon of West Lafayette, IN; daughters-in-law: George Ann Bordelon of Watonga, and Kathy Bordelon Adams and husband, Warren of Rose; and dear family friend, Jan Priddy.
