Anita Marie (Wilcox) Turley went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the age of 98. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, at Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Palmer officiating. Anita will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 12-6 p.m. Sunday.

Anita, the daughter of Osco Ottowa Wilcox and Edith Mae (Wilson) Miner, was born January 24, 1924, in Towanda, Kansas. When Anita was in the 6th grade, the family moved to Alluwe to farm. Anita played basketball for Alluwe High School, and would fall in love with her high school sweetheart, Leland "Jarold" Turley. They were united in marriage on December 14, 1941. Anita's father passed away and Jarold took over the running of the farm. Jarold was called to serve in the infantry during World War II, and was a prisoner of war. Anita and their daughter, Connie, went to stay with her sister in Kansas. After Jarold returned home the family moved to Joplin for a short while before making their home in Tulsa. Jarold and Anita opened Turley's Cleaners just off the Sand Springs Line. They operated the cleaners until their retirement in the 80's. In 1955, Olivet Baptist Church became their church home. Anita loved babies, and worked with the 2 year olds for many years.

With a tender, compassionate heart, Anita loved everybody; and always wanted to help others. She loved to tend to her flowers, and was always ready to go out to eat at a moment's notice.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Jarold in 2014; her parents; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children: Connie Weaver and husband, Charles, and Greg Turley and wife, Patsy; grandchildren: Josh Randall Turley and wife, Natalie, Corina Scraper, and Norita Bridges; great-grandchildren: James Brown, Corine Scraper, and Mariah Laster; and great-great-grandchildren: Savannah Brown, Khloe Laster, Konner Laster, and Hendrix Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Olivet Baptist Church, 155 N. 65th W. Ave., Tulsa, OK 74127.
