Barbara Marie Henson, age 77, of Tulsa, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Don Cook officiating. Barbara will find her final rest at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
Barbara came into the world on September 26, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, born to Inez White and Clarance "Red" White. She was a proud graduate of Central High School's class of 1964, a school that held a special place in her heart. Following her graduation, Barbara embarked on a fulfilling career as a waitress at the beloved Knotty Pine BBQ, where she served patrons with a warm smile and unwavering dedication for many years. It was here that she formed many cherished connections with those who came to know her.
On September 26, 1992, Barbara found love and companionship when she married Ray Henson in New Caney. They established their home in Tulsa and shared their lives together until Ray's passing. Barbara continued her work at Knotty Pine until 2003, when circumstances led to a temporary move out of Oklahoma. However, she returned a few years later to her beloved Tulsa.
Barbara's heart overflowed with love for her family and friends. She found joy in watching her favorite television shows and actively participated in bowling with the Tulsa Strikers. Her fondest moments were spent enjoying the game of Bingo at the Travelers Bingo Hall, where she undoubtedly brought her signature warmth and charm.
Barbara was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Ernest Ray Henson. She also joins her brothers, Cecil Stephens and his wife Nancy, and her sister, Diana Gregory, in eternal peace. Among those welcoming her home are Grandma Bertha Ann Ward, Mother Inez White, and Father Clarance "Red" White, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Dana Cox, and her husband, Wayne, her devoted son, Kristopher Henson, her dear brother, Jim Flemmings, her caring sister, Phyllis Gregory, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The legacy of Barbara Marie Henson will forever reside in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, and her memory will continue to brighten the lives of those she touched.
