Celebrating the Life of a Devoted Friend, Mentor, and Aviation Enthusiast
Bill Wagner, born February 23, 1958, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the age of 67. Bill led a remarkable life defined by his passion for aviation, his dedication to his career, and his unwavering love for his friends and beloved dogs.
Bill began his professional journey at American Airlines, where he worked as a jet engine mechanic for twelve years. His expertise and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of his colleagues and fueled his lifelong fascination with aircraft. After his time in aviation, Bill embarked on a new path as the head golf professional at Greenway Golf, sharing his love for the game and guiding others for seven years. Ultimately, Bill's passion for aircraft called him back, leading him to launch his own business, SkyBoss Aviation. There, he specialized in building general aviation engines, blending his mechanical skills with entrepreneurial spirit. Through his work, Bill touched countless lives and inspired those around him with his drive and ingenuity.
Outside of work, Bill found joy in simple pleasures. He treasured time spent with friends at the lake, dancing, relaxing on leisurely days by the pool and open wheel dirt racing. His love for his dogs was unconditional; Bill could be found walking his dogs every morning and evening, and he lovingly maintained an elaborate walking trail in the woods near Sand Springs Airport for their enjoyment.
Many evenings, Bill would sit outside the hangar, watching planes take off and land, content in the company of his dogs and the hum of aviation activity. These peaceful moments reflected his deep connection to flight and the quiet joy he found in his surroundings.
Bill will be dearly missed by a host of friends who knew him as a caring companion, an inspiring mentor, and a true friend. His legacy lives on in the memories of those whose lives he touched and in the trails he carved through both the wooded paths by Sand Springs Airport and the skies above.
May Bill's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
