Robert Gale "Bob" Simpson entered his heavenly home on Friday, April 22, 2022, at his home at the age of 82. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be 2 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at Osage Hills Christian Church with Rev. Herschel Martin officiating.

The son of Oscar Loyd Simpson and Dora (Smith) Simpson was born August 23, 1939, in Tulsa. Bob graduated from Central High School where he was a proud member of the yearbook staff. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Tulsa. Bob was a hard worker all his life. He started his career with Standard Auto Parts and retired from Jack's Auto Supply both in Turley. Even after retiring, he returned to help part time until 3 years ago. Bob was a savant and fanatic when it came cars. He could instantly tell what kind of car it was by the headlights or taillights.

In December of 1981, Bob met Marsha Lynn (Hale) Spence at a church progressive dinner. They became inseparable and were engaged by February and married on May 25, 1982, at Osage Hills Christian Church. Bob served as an elder at Osage Hills, served on the Leadership Board, and 40 years on the Missions and Benevolence Fund. He had a huge, giving heart and often gave out of his own pocket to help those in need when funds were not available.

Bob was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a clown in the Shriners. Bob was known as, "Bobbert the Clown". He drove his clown car with hand crank windshield wipers to many parades and church events. Bob loved to entertain, he had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved to laugh.

Bob was a veracious reader and loved to create drawings. He loved to color, create calligraphy, writing poems, and collect model cars. He was even a songwriter and could make up a song about anything on a whim.

Bob was a gentle man with a strong and honest character. He loved God and modeled that to the world. He told the best bad dad jokes you've ever heard. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dora Simpson. Also, he is preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Simpson, Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Marsha of the home; children: Teri Lambert and husband, Rich of Reisterstown, MD, Shawn Simpson of Sapulpa, Kenneth Spence and wife, Shanna of Sand Springs, Marcy Kihle and husband, Kurte of Tulsa, and Darrin Simpson and wife, Brooke of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Frances Simpson of Okmulgee; grandchildren: Jim Fields, Amber Burke, Cambrin Lambert, Aaric Lambert, Garrett Spence, Micah Spence and Jude Simpson; and great-granddaughter, Lilah Burke.
