Mannford
In Loving Memory of
Bobby Gene Shockley
Bobby Gene Shockley, 74, of Mannford, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on July 15, 2025. A native of Drumright, Oklahoma (born September 2, 1950), he lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service. Bobby was a beloved husband, father, and uncle, known for his gentle spirit and ever-present smile. He loved the Lord deeply, often sharing his testimony and finding great joy in ministry and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Love of Nature and Simple Joys
A true lover of God's creation, Bobby found peace and wonder outdoors. He could name any flower, tree, or plant he encountered, delighting in every detail of nature. One of his favorite places to be was an apple orchard in Arkansas, where he would stroll among the trees and reflect on the beauty of God's handiwork. He often said that each bloom and leaf was a reminder of the Creator's care. Bobby also treasured simple pleasures — above all, his favorite treat was chocolate chip ice cream. Family memories abound with the image of Bobby enjoying a bowl of his beloved ice cream cone after a summer outing, his eyes lighting up with gratitude for life's sweet blessings. These moments of joy — from watching wildflowers sway in the breeze to savoring a scoop of ice cream — reflected the childlike wonder with which he embraced the world.
A Life of Faith and Service
Bobby's faith guided every aspect of his life. He never missed an opportunity to speak of God's love or to pray with someone in need. As an active member of his church community, he served joyfully—welcoming strangers, leading with quiet humility, and giving credit to the Lord for every blessing. Friends and family remember how he would often lead a scripture reading or offer an encouraging word, always pointing others to Christ. His unwavering devotion to Jesus inspired many: he lived out the Gospel each day, demonstrating through kindness and compassion the true meaning of a servant's heart.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the hope Bobby had in the Lord. We know he is now at peace in the arms of his Savior, and we rejoice in the promise of eternal life that he believed in so fully. Bobby's legacy of faith, love, and simple joy will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life. We will miss him dearly, but we are forever grateful for the beautiful example he set and the love he gave so freely.
