Buddy Darnell Bayliss, a man of many life trades—from building pallets to working in the steel industry—passed away on December 31, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 63. Buddy was a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a resident of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, in Tulsa County.

Buddy was born on March 28, 1962, to Buddy Lee Bayliss and Rebecca Ann Griffin. No one who met Buddy ever forgot his infectious passion for the Lord Jesus Christ or the joy he found in spending time with the love of his life. His faith was steady and unshakable, and he often found comfort in the promises of Psalm 23, a scripture that reminded him of God's protection, refuge, and everlasting care.

He loved fishing, playing cards, working on building projects with his brother, and—of course—enjoying his thirst-quenching Steel Reserve 211. Buddy valued honesty and loyalty, and he passed down his knowledge, skills, and work ethic to his children and grandchildren. In his younger years, he was quiet and observant, taking in the world around him before joining the conversation.

In 1985, Buddy married Melissa Bayliss of Ozark, Arkansas. She moved to Tulsa, where the two met, fell in love, and built a life together.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; his brother, Shawn Bayliss; his three children, Crystal, and Thomas; eight grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Buddy Jr.; and his sister, Melissa Ann Griffin.

May you find eternal rest in the shadow of the Almighty, where fear fades, and love remains.
