Carla Anne
Aaron
Dec 24, 1947 — Dec 14, 2025
Sand Springs
Carla was born in Denison, TX and grew up in Sand Springs, OK. Graduating in 1966, she was a Sandite Queen attendant, NHS, Student Council Secretary, Y-teens, NFL, feminist, and January Senior Citizen in her class.
She was extremely talented at sewing and worked for 43 years as a seamstress at home and at retail locations. Her most fun alteration was a costume for a monkey.
Carla was always impeccably dressed and loved clothes and jewelry, and (of course) shoes. Strangers would often compliment her on her outfits.
Carla loved with every fiber of her being.
She maintained a nearly 70 year long friendship with her best friend, Paula. As children, their mutual interest in nature led to them referring to themselves as "fellow scientists," a name they would use for the rest of her life. Paula was Carla's best friend to the end.
Carla was a 24-hour caregiver for her late husband, Brad, until his passing from ALS. She then married Wayne, an old schoolmate, and was happily married to him for the rest of her life. Wayne says her love is so powerful that it helped his heart heal from losing his Mom and late wife within days of each other. He said she pulled him from a level of despair he didn't believe he would ever climb out and for that, he is forever grateful.
Carla's greatest pride was in the children she raised. She loved carrying her babies and watching them grow into strong, kind, successful adults. To the day she left this world, she adored all her kids and, in turn, was adored by them.
Carla loved people and animals and was a friend to all. Children and cats seemed especially drawn to her, something she cherished. She always had a kind word or compliment for everyone she met.
Carla is survived by her husband Wayne Aaron; brother Mark (Donna) Giles; children Brian (Debbie) Kendrick, Jason (Patti) Kendrick, Colin (Heather) McBride, and Taylor (Hunter) Bartman Dallas; and grandchildren Erin, Ava, and Charlotte Kendrick, and Evans McBride.
Carla was preceded in death by her husband Bradley W. Bartman, her mother Norma Jean Dougan, her father Jack Giles, and stepfather Bill Dougan.
Carla was cremated and arrangements for a celebration of life are still pending. Please feel free to sign the guestbook to share condolences and memories of Carla.
With Regards,
Wayne Aaron
