On February 27, 2025, Carolyn Sue Wyrick passed away at the age of 80 years old. A lifelong Oklahoma native, Carolyn was much loved by her family and her small town.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Charles Edward Hatchett and Ollie Florence (Allen) Hatchett; husband Teddy Ray Wyrick; daughters Lisa Larae Waller, Stephanie Wyrick, and Charlotte Ann Holland; Great-Grandson Lieghton Hanson and her beloved uncle Jerald Hatchett.

She is survived by her son Charles Steven Wyrick (wife Donna) of Sand Springs; daughter Christina Wyrick of Mangum; grandchildren Lacie, Nick, and Gage Holland, Destiny (husband Bruce) Wofford, Breanna Nolan, Billy and Kevin Waller, Steven, Chelsea, Chris and Natalie Wyrick, Lisa McCully, Ryan and Larry (wife Kristin) Kelley, and Shelbi (husband Hayden) Fritz; 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

On February 24, 1945, Carolyn Sue Hatchett was born in Granite, OK, to Charles and Ollie Hatchett. She enjoyed her life in Granite until her family moved to Mangum, OK, where they bought a small house and began the life that Carolyn loved and would always return to. In her early years, she was an only child but was fortunate enough to be raised close to her "Uncle Jerald," who was only four years older than her. They were raised together as siblings and loved each other very much.

At an early age, Carolyn met the love of her life, Teddy Ray Wyrick, and soon married. They quickly started a family, and Teddy joined the military. Their children, Lisa, Stephanie, Charles, and Charlotte, came within a few years of each other, and Carolyn had her hands full as she became a new mom while juggling moves to several different states, including a long move to Germany. While stationed in Germany, Carolyn began to miss her family in Mangum, so she and Teddy bought a small home there, where she returned with the kids while Teddy continued his career.

As the kids grew, Carolyn was always there to support and love them. She had a love for life and enjoyed every moment by watching her kids play sports, attending church, crafting, creating beautiful cakes, and following her favorite team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. She also had the opportunity to adopt one of her grandchildren, Christina Wyrick, and raised her in Mangum alongside her other children. Being a mother was such a joy to Carolyn, and she reveled in it. As her children grew into adults and started their own families, Carolyn soon became a grandparent, and her grandchildren became her new joy in life. She became known as MawMaw, not only to her grandchildren but to everyone who knew and loved her.

Teddy passed away unexpectedly at an early age, and Carolyn continued to stay in Mangum, where she assisted her mom and dad and helped raise her grandchildren. Carolyn was very close to her parents, and as they got older, she spent much of their later lives caring for them.

In February 2015, Carolyn moved to Sand Springs, OK, to live with her son Charles and his wife, Donna. For the next ten years, Carolyn continued to enjoy life and had the opportunity to travel. She also continued cherishing her family and loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Although we are here today to say goodbye, Carolyn's spirit will live on in each of us. Her lessons, her love, and her unwavering support will continue to guide us. Whether it's in the way we raise our own children, the kindness we show to others, or the strength we find in ourselves during tough times, her legacy is in everything we do. She was deeply loved by all who had the fortune of knowing her, and she will be greatly missed.
