Charles Harrison Gafford, age 96, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed away January 11, 2023.  He is survived by a loving wife, Charla Martin Gafford, one daughter, Tonya Allen, one granddaughter, Lara Caitlyn, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Charles was born in Waco, Texas, and grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Charles Page High School. At the age of eighteen, he went into the United States Army, where he was a medic in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned to Tulsa and attended Spartan School of Aeronautics. He then worked at American Airlines as a mechanic and inspector. After 42 years, he retired in 1990. Charles enjoyed driving his Model T and Model A cars, flying his Piper Colt airplane, attending dances with his wife, and spending time with his family.

Our family is grateful to know that Charles is finally at peace.  Funeral Memorial service to be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
