Chuck
Baldridge
Jun 20, 1968 — Jun 13, 2026
Sand Springs
On June 20, 1968, God sent Charles Fredrick to live in the home of his parents, Doug and Virginia Baldridge, along with his brother and sister, Mike and Tracie. At birth, the doctors said he was most likely a child with Downs Syndrome and to "Take him home and love him."
When Chuckie was 18 months old, his parents were sent to the Sand Springs Home to serve as Superintendent and Head Matron. While there, little Chuckie not only had a wonderful extended family to love him, he had over 50 kids and staff at the Home to help love and care for him as well.
He started to school at Sunnyside in Tulsa at 3 years of age. He then attended Tulsa Public Schools from age 5 through the sixth grade. From his Jr. High and Sr. High school years, Chuck benefited from wonderful Special Ed Teachers and the total program at Hissom Memorial Center. Since his brother and sister were both attending college, Chuck called it his Hissom College and came home most every weekend. He then attended Charles Page High School for two more years, graduating at the age of 21. He was blessed all through his school years with excellent teachers and was always a "teacher's pet." After graduation, he volunteered in some of his teacher's classes in Sand Springs and then a year at Rainbow Pre School.
Chuck's first real job was as a Walmart Greeter then in Housekeeping at a local department store. He worked 16 years on the Sertoma Food Truck delivering goods to charitable organizations. He then worked five years with Goodwill as a Box Bailer at the Hillcrest Hospital before retiring in 2020.
Chuck had a very active life participating in many activities. He loved to swim, snow ski and bowl in a bowling league. He participated in Special Olympics for many years including 2 years in Colorado with his sister as his coach. We enjoyed many family trips. A highlight was when Chuck, through his persistence, was invited to go to the "Dallas" TV episode to watch J.R. Larry Hagman) and meet him personally. A week later, Chuck was invited to come back to Dallas and appear on episode himself.
Chuck has had a very blessed life with an uncanny faith and love of God. He has truly been God's child and has spread Love and Joy throughout his life.
Chuck leaves behind his parents, Doug and Virginia Baldridge, his sister, Tracie Marshall and two nephews Alex and Zach Marshall. His brother, Mike and wife Patti Baldridge, 2 nieces, Mandy Baldridge and Jill & husband James Marsh, a great-nephew, Hunter, and two great-nieces. Nora & Emma.
His Uncles Don Baldridge, Paul Applegate and many cousins.
Those who have gone on before him are his grandparents, Fred & Audrey Baldridge and Charlie & Alma Applegate, his Brother-in-law, Chuck Marshall, His Aunt Rose & Uncle Elvin Lair and Aunt Sue & Johnny Carter and Uncle Herb Applegate.
A Celebration of Life service for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at Sand Springs Methodist Church, with Pastor Cole Fields officiating. A graveside service will precede the celebration at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In honor of Chuck's vibrant spirit and joyful personality, the family requests that those attending the service wear bright and cheerful clothing as they celebrate his life.
