Claude Olen
Krebs
Oct 29, 1941 — Jan 3, 2022
Sand Springs
Claude Olen Krebs, 80, of Sand Springs, passed from this life Monday January 3rd, 2022 with his family at his bedside.
Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service has been asked to provide the care for services of Claude by his loving family.
Claude was born on October 29th, 1941 in Fulton, KS to William Roe and Winifred Irene (Gump) Krebs. After graduating high school in Fulton, KS, he worked for a traveling combine in Napoleon, ND and met his wife Irene Florence Krebs. They were married in Wichita, KS, where he worked nights at Boeing and spent his days roofing for Montgomery Ward. Eventually, he founded Midwest Roofing, also based in Wichita. He then moved in 1972 to Sand Springs, OK where he founded the Tar Baby Asphalt Plant. He returned to roofing after his plant burned down, leading to the founding of Commercial Roofing Inc. in 1976, which is still active today. Claude spent his free-time raising cattle and horses, drilling for oil, throwing dice at the craps table, and spending time with his wife and family. He was married for a beautiful 50 years before Irene passed in 2011. Through all of this, one thing is for sure, Claude always enjoyed a hard days' work and thoroughly believed that you couldn't be trusted if you didn't have a little bit of dirt under your fingernails.
Claude is survived by sons Wendell Krebs and wife Dana, and Claude A. Krebs and wife Jan; daughters Glenda Chartier and Cynthia Jones and husband Kerry T.; daughter-in-law Becky Krebs; grandchildren, Roy Carl Chartier ⅠⅠⅠ, Christina Chartier, Shannon and Clark Chambers, Wendell Krebs, Jr., Joshua and Krystle Krebs, April Jelinek, Scott Jelinek, Megan and Joshua McDonald, Joseph and Melinda Armstrong, Kerry A. and Justine Jones, Bryan and Tara Jones, Zachary and Cymber Krebs, and Cassie and Amy Krebs; great-grandchildren Olivia and Clara Chartier, Alex Chartier, Kimberly Brower, Ryan and Remy Chambers, Kaden and Abigail Krebs, Kyle Krebs, Jase Jelinek, Jonathan, Madilyn, Makenna McDonald, Andrea, Audrey, Asher, and Aspen Armstrong, Rosalee Jones, Palmer and Hudson Jones, Maverick and Makynnah Krebs, and Katie Krebs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, his son Christopher Krebs, his sister Billie Vargas Polk, and his son-in-law Roy Carl Chartier.
