Dan
Johnson
Aug 30, 1956 — Feb 13, 2025
Sand Springs
Daniel Martin "Dan" Johnson entered his heavenly home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 68. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. A memorial service celebrating Dan's life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Viewing will be available from 12-8 p.m. on Friday, with family greeting friends from 5-6 p.m.
Dan was born on August 30, 1956, in Joliet, Illinois, to Kenneth Johnson and Doris (Lorrine) Johnson. His family later moved to Sand Springs, where he attended Angus School and Charles Page High School, graduating with the Class of 1974.
Dan began his career with S&H Green Stamps and later worked at Linear Films. He had a passion for music and played the drums in a local band, Freewilling Band, for several years. Music remained an important part of his life, and he continued playing the drums in his free time. Dan earned an associate's degree in music, further showcasing his dedication to the craft.
In 1995, Dan began working at Webco as a crane operator, where he dedicated 27 years of service before retiring.
Dan had a love for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He was known for his kindness, dependability, and clever wit. His intelligence and generosity made him someone people could always count on. Above all, he was a devoted father and was humorously recognized as the "best tooth puller." He had a strong faith in God and a deep love for children. A true patriot, he was proud to be an American.
On July 3, 1975, Dan married Dorothy Huff at the Lutheran Church in Sand Springs. They were blessed with two sons, Jeremiah and Nicholas. Though they later went their separate ways, their shared love for their family endured.
Dan is survived by his sons: Jeremiah Johnson and wife Kimberly of Cleveland, and Nicholas Johnson and wife Mioto of Sendai, Japan; grandchildren: Kayleigh Brown, Samantha Brown, C.J. McIntire, Alyssa McIntire, Mordacai Johnson, Phinehas Johnson, and Eleazar Johnson; great-grandchildren: Bryson Brown, Dean Miller, Spencer Miller, Malechai Miller, Kadan Sturch, Hazel Sturch, Elliott Sturch, Paetyn McIntire, Jayce McIntire, Brinleigh Schroeder, and Bella McIntire; sisters: Mary Hill and Kendy Kinion and husband Russ; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Johnson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org or the Make-A-Wish America, 1702 E. Highland Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016, www.wish.org in honor of Dan's love for children and his generous spirit.
Dan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
