In Loving Memory of David Anthony Florence
His faith was not merely something he professed—it was something he embodied through kindness, generosity, humility, and genuine care for others.
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of David Anthony Florence, who entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2026.
David was born on July 28, 1957, in Dearborn, Michigan. He was a devoted Catholic whose faith was the foundation of his life. He found great peace and joy in the beauty and reverence of the Traditional Latin Mass, and his love for Jesus guided the way he lived each day. His faith was not merely something he professed—it was something he embodied through kindness, generosity, humility, and genuine care for others.
David had a remarkable gift for connecting with people. Everywhere he went—whether through his work, at QuikTrip, or during everyday errands—David was known and loved by many. He never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make people feel valued, cared for, and welcome.
Above all, David cherished his family and friends. He and his wife of 46 years, Denise, spent their later years in the countryside of Mannford, where they enjoyed a slower pace of life tending to their chickens, roosters, and beloved dog, JoJo. He was also a devoted father to his five children: Christina, David, Cabrini, John, and Jacinta. He taught them to be kind to others and often reminded them, "Show some Christian charity."
David enjoyed OU football, fishing with his sons and grandson, Theodore ("Theo"), visiting his grandchildren and cousins in St. Louis, and deer hunting with his sons and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his two sisters, Nena Florence and Rhonda Myers; his five children; and his nine grandchildren: Lola, Daisy, Juliet, Rose, Theodore, Penelope, Lucia, Luca, and Roman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lorene Florence; his sister, Angela Rose; and his brother, Thomas Joseph.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
