Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 19, at Tulsa Calvary Temple with her brother, Rev. Tim Watkins, officiating. The service may be viewed live at www.facebook.com/tulsacalvarytemple .
The daughter of Billy Edgar Watkins and Betty Louise (Redman) Watkins was born August 20, 1955, in Oklahoma City. At the age of 6 months, the family moved to the Tulsa area. While attending Prue High School, Deborah was a cheerleader and active in the choir. She was a member of the graduating class of 1973. She continued her education at Oral Roberts University, and later completed her associates degree at Tulsa Community College. In January 1974, Deborah went to work with the City of Tulsa in the administration division of the police department; and then transferred to City Hall where she worked in employee benefits division of human resources. She eventually went to work with the administration of the fire department which she truly enjoyed. Deborah retired from the City of Tulsa after close to 40 years of dedicated service. She was a lifetime member of Tulsa Calvary Temple and was active in the choir.
Deborah met the love of her life, Michael McCool, while working at the police department. On May 19, 1984, they were married at Tulsa Calvary Temple, and made their home in Tulsa. In 1997, they built their dream home outside of Sand Springs. They loved being together and enjoyed snow skiing, camping, cruising, traveling to Germany, hunting and fishing.
Deborah was the best wife anyone could ask for, and the sweetest woman that ever lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Watkins.
