Debra Kay
Haughey
Dec 20, 1959 — Dec 18, 2022
Osage
Debra Kay "Debi" Haughey departed this life on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at her mother's home at the age of 62. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 23, at the Mobley-Groesbeck Chapel with Rev. Bill Lay officiating. The service may be viewed live at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/82635 .
Debi was born on December 20, 1959, in Greensburg, KS, to Riley Goins and Betty Ruth (Barnes) Goins Jones. She graduated from Mannford High School. Debi read meters for PSO for several years, before going to work as a professional landscaper. She loved working on flowers beds, rearranging flowers, and tending to the weeds. Debi also found time to rescue and place dogs in caring homes. She was the "Dog Whisperer", and along with her best friend, Teresa Neal, they ran the Prue Humane Society.
On September 10, 2004, Debi married the love of her life, Ernest L. "Ernie" Haughey, Jr., in Las Vegas, NV. Debi enjoyed traveling with her husband as he drove buses for many entertainers throughout the country. One of her favorite places to visit was West Palm Beach where they stayed in the Four Seasons next to the ocean.
Debi could find treasures everywhere and embarrassed her kids many times by rummaging through trash along the side of the road. Debi was a happy-go-lucky, positive energy, and the light of our world. Debi got along with everybody, and everyone that knew Debi liked her. Debi's grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved to play with them.
Debi was preceded in death by her father, Riley; and brother, Steve Goins.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ernie of the home; children: Janelle Fillmore of Cleveland, and Chris Fillmore of Ada; step-children: Karla Haughey of Sand Springs, and Joe Waeger of Tulsa; grandchildren: Xander, Andrew, Kolton, and Harley; and step-siblings: Vicki Jones of Sand Springs, Dewayne Jones and wife, Judy of Jay, and Clint Jones and wife, Linda of Sand Springs.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to support your local animal shelter.
