Memorial service for Donald Tyrone "Don" Miller will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 10, at Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Palmer officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Don entered his heavenly home on February 22, 2022, at the age of 84.

He was born May 11, 1937, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Ona Faye (Lawyer) Miller and Hervey G. Miller. The family moved to Tulsa in 1939, and on April 29, 1944, Don's brother, Michael "Danny" Miller was born. Don always said that Danny was the best brother ever. On April 17, 1949, Don was baptized at the First Christian Church in Tulsa. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1955 and worked that summer at the DX Refinery. Don continued his education at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater for a year, and then returned to Tulsa to work at a temporary job at Sun Refinery. He worked there from April 6, 1956, to December 1, 1991. A total of 35 years. He went back 7 times to work on temporary projects. After he retired, he took a job in Aruba for 2 years. On April 9, 1982, Don married Charlye B. Brown, and they made their home in Sand Springs. Don welcomed Charlye's son, Tracy, as if he was his own son. Don dearly loved Charlye and always said that he was the luckiest man in the world to have her by his side.

Don's favorite pastime was playing golf, and he would play 5 times a week. He developed strong relationships with his golf buddies, and they belonged to a men's Christian group. Don's love for God was strong. Don was an avid OU Sooners fan and would buy season tickets every year.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Sue (Miller) Helm in 2021, and his parents.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Charlye of the home; stepson, Tracy Wade Brown; younger brother, Michael Danny Miller and wife, Lynne (Hammond); 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

We will miss Don a lot but know we will see him again in Heaven.
