Doreen Sylvia Stone Cole was born on April 29, 1941, in Los Angeles, California to Louis and Elsie Doreen Perkins Stone. Her parents migrated to California from England and Wales. Her father worked at the family's business "Stone's hotel for dogs" where Doreen was born. Doreen was the second oldest of five children. A mother figure to her siblings, she enjoyed playing with the dogs and a memorable trip with her family to England. She met the love of her life, Tommy Cole, in 1958 after he came over to borrow a cup of sugar. They were married in Glendale, California in November 1958 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters, Teresa in 1961 and Trudy, in 1963. They accepted a position at the Sand Springs Children's Home and moved their family to Oklahoma in 1968 to raise their daughters.  Afterwards Doreen was primarily a homemaker but did enjoy jobs at the TG & Y in town west, ran epic yard sales, worked the concession stand at Keystone ballfields, and was the secretary for the Sand Springs General Baptist Church, where Tommy was the pastor. Doreen loved having the grandkids over, spoiling them with candy, ice cream, and honey buns. She was at every sporting event, award ceremony and talent show. Doreen never met a stranger and loved being around people. A consummate caretaker, she volunteered for Joyce Johnson ministries, had a bread ministry that delivered to various charities around Sand Springs and Tulsa, spent countless hours at the Sand Springs Senior center, and many other endeavors. She was very proud of her great grandchildren and would carry around photos of them to show to anyone who dared ask Doreen and Tommy loved going to gospel singing's and going on trips to Pagosa Springs and Branson. Doreen was a whiz at cards and could hold her own against Tommy at dominoes. Doreen is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elsie Stone, brother, Louis Lloyd George Stone, sister, Patricia Christian, husband, Tommy Ray Cole and daughter, Trudy Roxanne Eddington. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Becker, and Husband, Dennis, sister Shirley Amato, daughter, Teresa Cole Treadwell and Husband, Billy, granddaughter, Jessica Hale Skelton and husband Trey, Grandson Randy Hale and wife Kayla, grandson Austin Hale and wife Shelby, grandson, Josh Eddington, grandson Justin Eddington and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors.
