Elbert Lee
Remington
Jul 7, 1930 — Mar 15, 2023
Sand Springs
Remington, Elbert Lee age 92 passed away March 15, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mobley-Groesbeck funeral home in Sand Springs, OK. Elbert was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on July 7, 1930, to George John Remington and Ada Belle Summerlin Remington. Finding the love of his life, Elbert married his sweetheart Rose Mary Davis on December 24, 1949, in Tulsa Oklahoma. Together they were able to enjoy more than 66 years of marriage. Preceding Elbert in death was his wife, Rose Mary Remington, his parents George and Ada Remington, five brothers, Leon, Floyd, Claude, Raymond and Bobby. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Cornelius and husband Jerry of Skiatook, Mary Denton and husband Loren of Joplin, MO, and son David Remington and wife Durinda of Owasso. He had nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and 16 sixteen great-great-grandchildren. Elbert was a loving husband, papa, grandpa, great grandpa and great-great grandpa. Elbert loved being outside, working in the yard and garden. He took great pride in all that he did including growing his tomatoes and keeping everything immaculate. Elbert just loved puttering around in his garage with his tools and equipment. Elbert also found great joy in going to eat at the Crescent Cafe and visiting with his friends. Elbert had friends every place that he went. He was always "cutting up"with people just to see them smile. Elbert was the most generous man. and had a tender heart. When he saw someone that appeared in need, total strangers, he would try to take care of them, including giving his own walking cane to a man that he saw struggling even though he himself could barely walk. Elbert was a big tipper, the tips always exceeded the price of the meal, not forgetting the cook, dishwasher and cashier. He sacrificed his own needs to take care of others. Last but not least. Elbert was a great musician, and his passion was playing the guitar. He spent many hours jamming with a few friends, or just by himself. He played and sang in church until he could no longer physically do it. One more thing that Elbert did daily, was draw pictures or "doodle" and give them to whoever was around, the waitress, nurses or teller at the bank. His pictures are posted all around Sand Springs and the hospital. Elbert will be missed by all who were blessed to know him, especially his family and closest friends.
