Elsie Marie Jones passed from this life on June 28, 2025, at the age of 97. Services are under the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Elsie was born on June 22, 1928, in Yale, Oklahoma. At the age of 18, she was united in marriage to John A. Jones on April 4, 1947. Together, they built a life anchored in love and resilience until John's passing in 1986.

As an extremely devoted mother, Elsie dedicated her life to the care and well-being of her beloved son, Roger. Her strength and selflessness never wavered, and her final words were used to express the deep love she held for him. She was also known for her remarkable organization—a trait that helped her gracefully manage the many challenges and responsibilities life brought her way.

Elsie is survived by her son, Roger Keith Jones, and by her cherished friends Jeannie Goodman, Margaret Tatum, and Susan Fender. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her sister, Dorothy Mosley; and her parents, Harry and Bernice Betz.

The following poem was a reflection of the quiet strength and steady faith that defined her life:

"God has not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God has not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow or peace without pain.

But God has promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, unchanging love."
