E. Wayne Pickens, 87, passed away August 27, 2021 at his home in Sand Springs, OK.  He was born September 29, 1933 in Marshalltown, IA.  Wayne was the beloved husband and best friend of his wife Coleen Pickens.  Devoted father to Wayne Pickens, David Pickens, Brent Pickens, Michael Pickens, Shawn Pickens, step-father to Anthony Hays, Brad Hays.  Doting grandfather to Caitlyn Colie, Dakota Pickens, Michaella Lynn Pickens the late Skyler Pickens and many others and great grandfather to many, many more.  Wayne joined the Marines at age 17 and served his country for 4 years, then the Reserve for many more years.  He served in the Korean War and loved telling stories to anyone who would listen.  Funeral memorial service to be held 3:30pm Friday, September 10, 2021 at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.
