The daughter of Haley David Hicks and Valley Lee (Young) Hicks was born January 8, 1938, in Lexa, AR. Evie grew up in New Orleans, and at the age of 16 moved to Chicago. After moving back to New Orleans, she met Timothy James Wells. They were married for 20 years and had four beautiful children together. They moved often due to Timothy's service in the U.S. Army, settling in Florida in 1974. They later separated ways, and Evie fell in love with Farley Brown. They were together for 20 years and made their home in Tulsa. Farley ran a local business, and Evie helped him by doing his books.

Evie was full of life. She loved doing crafts and ceramics. She had a good personality, enjoyed flirting, and was a very loving and caring person. She gave the best hugs, and would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. Every month she gave to as many charities as she could. She also had her feisty side and was known to be a little sneaky and ornery. She never cared what others thought of her, was very blunt and straightforward, and often whispered a little too loud.

She attended Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witnesses for many years.

Evie is preceded in death by her husband, Farley; her parents; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children: Robert James "Bobby" Wells of Pensacola, FL, Timothy "Scott" Wells of Arlington, TN, Janet "Marie" Westerfield of Sand Springs, and Dawn Sherry Brake of Molina, FL; grandchildren: Tristan, Anna, Michelle, April, Timothy James "T.J.", and Jeanna; and a legacy of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
