Floyd Eugene
Wallace
Apr 26, 1950 — Jun 30, 2023
sand springs
Floyd Eugene Wallace, 73, departed this world on Friday, June 30, 2023, at his home in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, with his family by his side. Floyd was born in Fresno, California, on April 26, 1950, to Ray Eugene Wallace and Bobbie Jean (Blay) Wallace. The only thing he enjoyed about school was playing baseball, basketball, football, and track. As a kid in California, he spent his time working picking fruit for his grandma Rhoda with his siblings as well as mowing yards.
At the age of fifteen Floyd left California to come to Oklahoma to see his dad, and that is when he met the love of his life He traveled back and forth from Oklahoma to California for a while until finally he gave the love of his life a surprise kiss. It was then that he knew he didn't want to let her go. So, on November 26, 1968, in Neosho, Missouri, he married Evelyn Sheral Mahan. They were married fifty-four years at the time of Floyd's passing. They welcomed two daughters, Misti Gail, in 1976, and then Kristi Jean, in 1978. After that their little family was now complete.
Floyd's dream was to always be an equipment operator, and that was what he pursued. He went to work for Underground Construction. The owner made a big impact on his life and taught him so much about running a business. Shortly after their first daughter was born Floyd took a chance and went into business for himself. Although it made his wife nervous, he became a successful business owner. He worked all across the state of Oklahoma putting in everything from phone lines, gas lines, and then water lines. Eventually, he bought and opened his dirt pit, which he enjoyed running until he decided to retire.
When he became papa to Lexi, Lane, and Cloe he was over the moon. They were his pride and joy and he loved them more than anything in the world. Anything they wanted he was all about getting even if they didn't need it. His bond with each of them was special.
Floyd enjoyed traveling with his family and was lucky enough to visit all fifty states through his traveling over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, going to the races, and in his earlier years rebuilding old cars. No matter where he went, he usually ran into someone he knew, and if he didn't, he'd strike up a conversation with anyone because he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie (Blay) Wallace, his father Ray Wallace and wife Mary Wallace, two brothers Billy Ray Wallace and Jimmy Wallace, a Cousin Lonnie Wallace, and nephew Brandon Murray. He is survived by his wife, Sheral Wallace, of Sand Springs, daughter Misti Wallace, of Sand Springs, daughter Kristi Patterson and husband Randy, of Sand Springs, grandchildren Lexi Cannon, Lane Cannon, and Cloe Logsdon all of Sand Springs, a brother Glenn Harden and fiancé Pam of Sand Springs, sister Barbara Davis and husband Larry of Muskogee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
