Frances Marie
Grisham
Jul 6, 1932 — Jan 7, 2026
Frances Marie Grisham, a native of Tulsa, passed peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2026 in Greeley, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born on July 6, 1932, to Harold and Velma Conklin. Her maternal grandparents, Roy and Elizabeth Black, provided strength and stability for their large extended family.
Frances met Charles Russell Grisham at a high school football game and eloped with him within a month! Their 67-year marriage was a lifelong love affair, blessed with six children. As youth leaders at Tulsa's First Apostolic Church, they mentored scores of future world changers. Frances faithfully partnered with Charles in ministry for more than 60 years throughout North America. Together, they founded a church in Fargo, North Dakota, and pastored for nearly 35 years in Detroit, Michigan. Frances was the consummate homemaker, accomplished seamstress and gourmet cook. Her home was the canvas where she painted beautiful moments for family and friends. A woman of few words, Frances was rarely misunderstood and will be remembered for her classic wit. Her legacy is her great faith and signature calm.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Conklin and Velma Jones; her husband, Charles Grisham; her daughter, Lorna Kathleen Danvers; her grandchildren, Brent Bass and Angela Barron; her brother, William Conklin; and sister, Shirley Collins.
She is survived by five children: Terry Bass of Greeley, Colorado; Reverend Mark Grisham and Sherri of Houston, Texas; Cheryl Becton and Reverend Ron of Nashville, Tennessee; Greg Grisham of Brownstown, Indiana; Daren Grisham and Daphne of New York, New York; eight adoring grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many other loving admirers and precious friends.
