Gary Lee Parker departed this life on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at his home at the age of 69. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held Sunday, March 12, at the Case Community Center, 1050 W. Wekiwa Rd., Sand Springs, from 4-6 p.m.

Gary was born on February 20, 1953, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa to Frederick Lafayette Parker and Minnie Bell "Betty" (Tanner) Parker. He graduated from Rogers High School where he was a talented football player. Gary was employed with Ramsey Winch for 24 years starting with building, then warranty work, and lastly as an expeditor. He then went to work with MRI Machinery as a salesman and remained there until his retirement in 2014. Gary was outgoing and never met a stranger. If he didn't know you when he met you, he knew your whole life story by the time you parted.

On April 28, 1978, Gary married the love of his life, Evelyn Kay Wells, at her parents home in Mazie. They made their home in Tulsa before moving to Prattville 18 years ago.

Gary was very competitive, and always had a sport he was actively playing. In their earlier married years, they spent spring, summer, and the cold of fall at the ball fields where Gary played softball. As the years passed, he took up racquetball and it quickly became his favorite. He often played at Tulsa University and sometimes Rhema four nights a week for around three hours. Gary was always on the phone rounding up his friends for a game of either racquetball, pickleball, basketball or golf.

Gary had a special relationship with his nephew, Austin. He never missed one of Austin's football games, and was known as "Unc" by everyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Leroy "Butch" Dennis and Tom Dennis.

Gary will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Evelyn; nephew, Austin C. Hager; and his beloved kitty cat, Hot Chocolate.
