Gary Dean Townsend, 81, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs, OK. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Mr. Townsend was born on May 26, 1943, to Ralph and Judy Townsend in Lawton, OK. He married Shirley Cornelius in October 1985 in Las Vegas, NV.

Mr. Townsend dedicated nine years to working for the City of Page, AZ, ten years with the National Park Service, and nineteen years in highway, airport, and canal construction. Following this, he worked for Pepsi Cola for seven years. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home in Sand Springs; one daughter, Michelle Finlay of Denver, CO; and a stepdaughter, Kim Drewes (Warren) of Broken Arrow, OK. He is also survived by one brother, William D. Townsend of Jeffersonville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph.
