Helen Owen Donnell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Helen was born on September 28, 1929, in Bartlesville, OK, to Samuel Jones Owen and Myrtle Fannie (McGee) Owen.

In 1947, she graduated from Bartlesville High School, embarking on a journey of love and learning at Oklahoma State University. Her life was deeply intertwined with Lewis Fredrick "Lew" Donnell, whom she met in 8th-grade study hall. Lew and Helen's love story blossomed through their high school years, culminating in marriage on June 4, 1949, in Bartlesville. Together, they shared an extraordinary union that spanned 74 beautiful years.

Helen devoted her early years to raising their children, embodying the epitome of a "super mom." Her warmth, care, and unwavering support shaped the lives of her children—David Donnell and wife, Karla of Lawrence, KS; Lynda Lyman and husband, Stephen of Sand Springs; and Pam Josselet and husband, Rick of Jamaica Beach, TX.

Later in life, she pursued a career as a bank teller, showcasing her dedication and work ethic. Even after retirement, Helen found joy in simple pleasures, cherishing moments of line dancing and leisurely walks until five years ago.

Helen's vibrant spirit was reflected in her love for stylish dressing, always adorned with her signature red lipstick and a sparkle that mirrored her personality—feisty, witty, and kind-hearted. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, inspiring everyone around her.

Her legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren: Shawn Smith and wife, Miriam; Jason Smith and fiancé, Brittany; Sarah Smith; Eric Bonilla and wife, Summer; Sam Donnell and fiancé, Sarah; and Emily Donnell. Helen's heart expanded even further with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Kinley, Kason, Julianna, Jared, Gregory, Ruby, Delaney, and Evelyn, whom she cherished deeply.

Helen Owen Donnell was more than a matriarch; she was a beacon of love and selflessness. Her passing is deeply mourned by her devoted husband, Lew Donnell, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Myrtle Owen, and her siblings: Jimmy Owen, Anna Mae Owen, Mildred Jonstone, and Russell Owen.

Her presence will be sorely missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
