Helen Pauline Mills, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 8, 2024, at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, at the age of 88. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Born on July 31, 1935, in Cleveland to Ray and Opal Cavin, Helen's journey through life was marked by resilience, hard work, and a profound love for family. She graduated from high school in Cleveland, where she not only earned the title of homecoming football queen but was also voted the prettiest girl. Helen's talents extended beyond the realm of academics, as she was a skilled majorette and held the prestigious position of head twirler.

Helen's professional journey began at National Tank, where she worked as a young accountant. She later joined Touche Ross Accounting Firm before retiring as a Full Charge Accountant from Claude Neon Federal Sign Company in her 70s, after dedicating many years of service.

Throughout her life, Helen remained connected to her roots, growing up on a farm and instilling in her the values of hard work and determination. Her childhood memories included riding her white horse, Pansy, in town parades, thanks to the loving efforts of her grandfather Schaeffer.

Helen was known for her strong will, love for animals, and a great sense of humor. Her bond with her dog, Puggy, was particularly special. She was not only intelligent but also a beautiful soul, leaving an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Wayne K. Mills, daughter, Dee Barrett Mills, parents, Ray Leonard and Opal Cavin, and brother, Jack Cavin. Helen is survived by her loving children: Carol Frazier Mills, Kennie Carpenter and husband, Don, Donna Villareal and husband, Paul, and DeWayne Mills and wife, Tara. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Alicia, Amy, Erin, Jesse, Kimberly, and Kallee, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

Helen's faith played a central role in her life, and she raised her children in the Baptist church, frequently attending Keystone Baptist Church and Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs. A memorial service celebrating her remarkable life will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, at Mobley-Groesbeck Chapel, with Pastor Roger Sheppard officiating. The service may be viewed live at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/96841 .

In this time of sorrow, let us remember and celebrate the life of Helen Pauline Mills, a woman whose love, laughter, and enduring spirit will forever be etched in our hearts. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared with others.
