Jack W
Moffit
Apr 4, 1958 — Aug 29, 2026
Jack Moffit was 68 years young at the time of his passing. He was in Tulsa, Oklahoma at St Francis Hospital on August 29, 2026 at 7:30 pm when he passed away. His family and close friends surrounded Jack, when he went to meet Jesus.
Jack’s Celebration of Life service will be held on September 3, 2026 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Mannford Oklahoma. His service will begin at 10 am. After the service his internment will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Mannford Oklahoma. There will be lunch and fellowship to follow at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Jack was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jack and Mary Ann Moffit. He has two sisters, Brenda and Tammy. They were a very close family who loved spending time together in his youth. He went to school at Keystone where he completed the 8th grade. He later left school to join his family's business where he worked for many years.
He married Cherri Woods-Luttrell, his wife in 1979. They were married for 47 years and had two children Jackie and Jessica. He loved his kids and enjoyed participating in all their activities. He loved taking his kids hunting, fishing, camping, and especially taking them to Roaring River State Park. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews. The light of his life was his grandson Jackie Chance, who called him Papa. They were best buddies and he loved spending time with him.
Jack believed that being a part of scouts was one of the most rewarding things he did. He was involved in leading boy scouts for 27 years. He loved to be outside, fishing or camping and hanging out with the scouts and their families. He was one of the funniest people anyone could meet. He was always a kid at heart. He was normally the ringleader of pranks. He connected with kids in a way they understood. Even though he struggled with his mobility it never stopped him from having fun or trailing along on all the adventures. He was very proud of all the young men he helped to mentor. We will never forget the good times, stories and shenanigans they were all involved in. To each of you who touched his life in this capacity he wanted to know he loved every one of you. Thank you for giving him the opportunity to be a part of your lives.
Jack was baptized and a long-time member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He loved the Lord but was unable to attend church often. He appreciated his church family very much.
Jack is survived by his wife, Cherri Moffit, His children Jackie and Jessica Moffit and their partners Maddie Herron, and Trever Hatfield. He is survived by his grandson Jackie Chance Moffit and his sisters Brenda Ginn and Tammy King. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends. His parents Jack and Mary Ann Moffit preceded him in death.
We want to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this very difficult time. We appreciate everyone who has come to celebrate Jack’s life. We are grateful to each and every one of you.
