Janelle (Hoyt) Jones, 77, of Sand Springs, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 13, 2022, in Norman Oklahoma.

Jan's care has been entrusted to Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

She was born on November 2, 1944, to Kenneth O. and Lottie Jane (Langley) Hoyt in Claremore, Oklahoma.  She graduated from Madill High School in 1962 and attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.  Jan married Gary Dean Jones on November 23, 1966, in Davis, Oklahoma. In 1968 she began working at Madill Bank and Trust.  Following a move from Madill, Oklahoma to Miami, Oklahoma she began a 10-year career at Security Bank and Trust.  The family moved to Sand Springs in 1983 where she joined Limestone National Bank (later known as American Heritage Bank) from which she retired in 2008. During her time at Limestone and American Heritage Jan worked in several capacities from teller, loan secretary, operations manager, and assistant cashier. Jan and Gary are active members of St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma.  Their church family is very special to them and she will be missed by many of her friends there.

Jan enjoyed trying new recipes, shopping, decorating for the holidays, and supporting her grandchildren in their sports and activities no matter how far she had to travel.  She also loved her Oklahoma Sooners.  Regardless of the sport if they didn't win by at least 50 points she wasn't happy!

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Gary; daughters Kendra Kay and husband Scott McLemore of Richmond, Texas; Cori DeAn and her husband Rick Risener of Austin, Texas; brother, Gerald Hoyt of Salem, Oregon; six grandchildren, Tyler Smith and wife Savannah, Shelby Whitecotton and husband Tyler, Brody McLemore, Emma Cunningham, Wyatt Cunningham, and Jake Risener; four great grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Beau Smith, Kenasyn Whitecotton, Kru Whitecotton; and beloved niece Kelly Brown.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Linda Kay Brown.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Norman Regional Healthplex for going above and beyond to care for their wife, mother, and grandmother in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jan's memory to St Bede's Angel Projects and the CPHS Social Studies Department.  Donations can be made at www.sandites.org .  Select "Donate" under the menu.  In the comments, please specify CPHS Social Studies Department.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, 6960 West Old Keystone Road, Cleveland, OK 74020.  Following the service, the congregation is hosting a Celebration of Life reception in the Parish Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
