Jean Taunton, 81, Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from this life Tuesday, June 14, 2022, with her family by her side. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Jean will be Friday, June 17, 2022, at 11:00am, in the Tulsa Lighthouse Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation for Jean will be Friday, June 14, 2022, from 9:00am until 11:00am, also at the Tulsa Lighthouse Church.

Jean was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, on November 15, 1940, to Toney O. Johnson and Mattie J. (Bozeman) Johnson. Shortly following her graduation from High School, Jean married the love of her life, Raymond Edward Taunton, on December 23, 1958, in Freeport, Florida. Together they were able to spend more than 63 years of marriage. Jean was a true homemaker. Cooking for her family and friends was just a part of her life. In Carlsbad, New Mexico, Jean was known as the "Bread Lady". Her bread and cinnamon rolls were wonderful and loved by all. She also enjoyed traveling, birdwatching and was very good at crafts. The times Jean could spend with her family was priceless. Her beautiful smile and wonderful attitude will be missed by both her family and friends.

Preceding Jean in death was her parents Toney and Mattie Johnson; son Steven Taunton; and brothers Theodore Johnson and Danny Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Taunton; daughter Glenda Ford and husband Steve; grandchildren Jacqueline Doyle and husband T.J., Dana Ford, Brooke Bible and husband Derrick, Tyler Ford and wife Raelene, and Taylor Taunton; great-grandchildren Olivia Doyle and Nathaniel Doyle; sisters Freida Smith and husband Gary and Frankie Gowdy and husband Don; brother Allen Johnson and wife Judy; many other relatives and a host of friends.
