Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan Nichols, age 64, of Sand Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Born on April 29, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jeff was the beloved son of Lawrence Werhan Nichols and Alice Jeanne (Parnell) Nichols. He spent his formative years between Tulsa and Sand Springs, graduating from Charles Page High School in 1979. During his school years, Jeff found joy in drama and set construction, showcasing his creativity and dedication early on.

Jeff's work ethic was evident from a young age. He began volunteering with the Keystone Fire Department at just 12 years old—a commitment that would shape much of his life. He later worked at Fuel Stop, where he met the love of his life, Loretta Louise (Henning) Fanning in 1991. The two were married on August 13, 1994, in a ceremony held at the Keystone Fire Department, a place that meant so much to Jeff. Afterward, Jeff joined FADCO, where he specialized in cabinetry estimates.

A passionate firefighter, Jeff devoted countless hours to the Keystone Fire Department, assisting wherever he was needed. He was a fixture at department fundraisers, proudly ran the spook trail on his tractor, and was a key organizer of the annual car show. His dedication to service was matched only by his love for working on cars and helping others.

Jeff was deeply family oriented. He was always there to lend a hand, especially when it came to helping with his mother's home. Known for his reliability and big-hearted nature, Jeff was a gentle soul—a teddy bear to those who knew him—but fiercely protective of the ones he loved.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Charles "Charlie" Fanning. He is survived by his devoted wife, Loretta; sons, Sam Nichols and Chris Fanning; grandchildren, Peyton and Preston Kennedy; great-grandchild, Gannon Kennedy; siblings: Beverly Avey and husband, John, Lawerence "Nick" Nichols and wife, Rhonda, and Stephen Nichols; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry his memory forward.

Jeff's legacy of service, love, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
