It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Hughes, who left us far too soon on May 25, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 2, 1973 and had 51 amazing years of life and memories.

Jenny was a light in every life she touched—a whirlwind of joy, laughter, and love. With a smile that could brighten even the darkest day and a laugh that was truly contagious, she had an unmatched ability to make everyone feel welcome, seen, and loved. Whether it was cracking a joke in the most serious moments or dancing like no one was watching, she reminded us all not to take life too seriously. She had an uncanny knack for turning everyday moments into lasting memories. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left an undeniable mark on her friends, family, and anyone lucky enough to cross her path. There was nothing more she loved in this life than a day on the beach with her husband, kids, grandkids and family. Although Jenny had many titles her favorites were being wife to Mike, a mother to Justin and Jentry and a Cookie to Huxlee and Canyon. The pride in her eyes when talking about that portion of her life was undeniable.

Jennifer is survived by husband Mike Hughes, children Justin and Jentry Hughes, grandchildren Huxlee Martin and Canyon Hughes, parents Jerome and Pam Kern, mother-in-law Sandra Ward, brothers Gary Kern and Matthew Kern, Vickie Gilmartin, sister-in-law Jody Terrell, nieces and nephews Amanda Kern, Whitney Kern, Josh Kern, Randilynn Anderson, Marrisa and Kristen Kern, Zachary Kern, Justin, Bode, Jake and Colton Kern, Niece Raven Abston and nephew Chase Cartilage and many uncles, aunts and  great nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her laughter, stories, and unconditional love.

Jennifer is preceded in death by father-in-law Robert Ward, maternal grandparents Henry and Priscilla Coager, paternal grandparents John and Dorothy Kern, niece Kayla Gilmartin and her beloved dogs Roscoe and Copper.

Though cancer took her from us far too early, it never dimmed her spirit. She faced her illness with grace, courage, and even humor-still finding ways to make others smile through the hardest days.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 30th, 2025  at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Sand Springs. In honor of Jennifer, the family asks that you wear something colorful-because she would never want a room full of black at her funeral, and she always loved a good splash of sparkle.

Though our hearts are breaking and our lives are forever changed, we find comfort in knowing her light will never go out-it's in all the hearts she touched.

To continue the battle Jennifer fought so bravely, the family suggests donations be made in her honor to MD Anderson Cancer Center .
