Jimmie Richard
Jackson
Mar 24, 1969 — May 30, 2025
Sand Springs
Jimmie Richard Jackson entered his heavenly home on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 56. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
A celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at Bright Morning Farms.
Jimmie was born on March 24, 1969, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jimmie Dale Jackson and Priscilla Kay (Newberry) Watson. He spent his early years in Lovington, New Mexico, before his family settled in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. A graduate of Charles Page High School, Jimmie enjoyed playing basketball during his school years.
In June of 1987, Jimmie answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army. He served with pride as a Military Police officer until June 1995, stationed at various bases across the country. His time in the Army instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, loyalty, and service that stayed with him for the rest of his life.
After his military service, Jimmie built a diverse and successful career. He worked as a truck driver, a technician with Praxair, a senior operator at Holly Refinery, and most recently, as a pipeline controller for the Williams Company.
On January 23, 1999, Jimmie married the love of his life, Karen Renee Jones. Though they had known each other since elementary school, their adult lives brought them back together while working at CFS. Their love story began with Karen boldly asking why he was ignoring her—and ended with a first date on Christmas night in 1997, where she met nearly his entire family. From that moment on, they were inseparable.
Jimmie had a big heart and an even bigger personality. Known affectionately as "Captain Chaos" during family game nights—a title he proudly advanced to "Colonel Chaos" and eventually "Supreme Commander Chaos"—he brought laughter and energy wherever he went. He was the kind of man who collected people. If he knew you, you were his. He proudly served as "color guard dad" and cared deeply for the gaggle of kids in his life. It didn't matter that they "weren't his" because once he knew them, they were his.
A man of many talents, Jimmie was a natural handyman who could fix almost anything and wasn't afraid to "tolerate" Karen's endless "I was thinking" house projects. He loved traveling, attending concerts with Karen, hunting, and—most of all—spending time with his children and their partners. He enjoyed passing on his vast array of knowledge, sometimes random, to help make sure his kids were able to be independent and well-rounded.
Jimmie was loyal, stubborn, and steady. He was a great storyteller with a sharp wit and an infectious laugh. He would often say he was "the nicest person he knows—just ask him," a phrase that perfectly captures his blend of humor and confidence. He worshiped at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and North Heights, finding strength and guidance through his faith.
Jimmie is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Jackson of the home; daughter, Bre Jackson and partner Sean McMahan of Sand Springs; son, Justin Castleberry and wife Nasais Veloz of Edmond; and their cherished granddog, Dexter Jackson. He is also survived by his parents, Kay Watson and Jim Jackson; sister, Saundra Owen and husband Jason; brother, Travis Jackson; mother-in-law, Wilma Jones; sister-in-law, Lisa Knox; nephews, Alex, Jordan, and Jason Knox; and nieces, Bella Owen, Maggie Jones, and Emma Jones.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Margaret Newberry and Jess and Modene Jackson, and by his father-in-law, John Jones.
Jimmie's legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, love, and controlled chaos. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the joy of knowing him.
