John Allen Gibson, Jr. 72 of Sand Springs passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2023 in Hillcrest Medical Center.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service.

John was born to John A. and Virginia Mozel (Ashing) Gibson on August 3, 1950 in Tulsa, OK.  John joined the US Army on June 26, 1968 and was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant of the 75th Ranger Battalion on June 25, 1971.

He began working at CE NATCO as a machinist, and worked there until the company shut down in the early 1980's.  He then went to work at Fabricut in the warehouse, where he met and married the love of hie life, Melissa Kay Miears on April 20, 1981 in Tulsa.

He enjoyed watching OU sports, including the football and softball programs; watching TV and traveling the United States with Melissa.

John is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home.
