Johnny Ray
Beard
Oct 21, 1956 — May 23, 2023
Inola
Johnny Ray Beard departed this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at St. John Hospital, Broken Arrow, at the age of 66. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Johnny was born October 21, 1956, in Willits, California, to Bobby Ray Beard and Lila Sue (Lenard) Beard. The family moved to Broken Arrow where Johnny attended school. Johnny was drafted in the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Army. After coming home Johnny started Beard Construction and worked as a carpenter.
Johnny was a free spirit, straight shooter, and didn't hide anything. He accepted everyone for who they were, was a gentle giant, and never met a stranger. He was a spiritual man, and found peace in being outdoors fishing, camping, and canoeing with his nephews Dustin, Clint and Michael. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his son, Jason, and Johnny loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Raelee Beard.
Survivors include his son, Jason and wife, Constance Chouteau of Inola; siblings: Dale Beard and wife, Patricia, Marlene Ladley and husband, Bill, Darlene Jones and husband, Gene, and Wanuema James and husband, Danny; and grandchildren: Madison Beard, Aubrey Beard, Khyleah Chouteau, Johnny Beard, Gabrielle Chouteau, and Elijah "Tug" Wilfong; and great-grandchild, Jayden Briseno.
