Johnny D.
Simmons
Dec 6, 1940 — May 6, 2026
Broken Arrow
Johnny Don Simmons, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was born on December 6, 1940, in Grainola, Oklahoma, to John and Gladys (Christy) Simmons, and was the oldest of four children.
During his senior year of high school, Johnny's family moved to Skellytown, Texas, and he later made his home in Borger, Texas, before eventually returning to Oklahoma, where he built a life filled with hard work, devotion to family, and lasting friendships.
Johnny dedicated nearly 40 years of service to T.D. Williamson in Tulsa, retiring as a Technical Machine Operator. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet kindness, and dependable nature. Outside of work, Johnny enjoyed cheering on his beloved O.U. Sooners and the OKC Thunder. In his younger years, he especially loved fishing and bowling, hobbies that brought him joy and many treasured memories.
Johnny's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Kasishke; his grandson, Dr. Paul R. Kasishke II and wife Jaime; and his cherished great-grandson, Paul "Trip" Kasishke III, all of Broken Arrow. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Simmons of Pampa, Texas, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents, John and Gladys Simmons; his brother, Winfred "Brub" Simmons; his brother Larry Simmons and wife Carol; his sister Debra Phillips and husband Galen; and his son-in-law, Paul R. Kasishke.
Johnny will be remembered for his steady presence, love for his family, and the simple joys he found in life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
