Kenneth Karl
Kinsler
Mar 7, 1952 — Aug 27, 2025
Tulsa
Kenneth Karl Kinsler, born in Marion, Ohio on March 7, 1952, passed away on August 27th, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Meera, his children Wesley and Kurtis, his stepchildren, Lynne and David, and his grandchildren, Brandon, Rose, Braden, Max, and Lily. Also his mother, Virgie Kinsler, his sister Jackie (Mark) Gillings, and brother Dennis (Nancy) Kinsler.
Ken graduated from Elgin High School in Ohio and worked at the Erie Lackawanna Railway before attending the Pittsburg Institute of Aeronautics. After school, Ken spent over 30 years as a mechanic and crew chief at American Airlines. When he retired, he spent his days at the Pogue airport, hanging out with the guys, building and repairing planes, and completing annual inspections at nearby airports. Ken was awarded the Charles E. Taylor Master Mechanic Award in October of 2024 for 50 years of dedicated service in aviation safety.
Ken's love of sailboats, trains, airplanes, cars, and helping others were reflected in all aspects of his life. This ranged from helping Boy Scouts earn their sailing badge to serving on numerous local and international mission trips. He was always willing to help those he held dear with any project, including building an airplane from nothing but a shell of a frame. In his free time, he and Meera would fly all over the state just to grab breakfast and enjoy God's creation from the skies.
Ken's life will be celebrated during a private service held for friends, family and his home congregation at the First Church of the Nazarene in Sand Springs, OK.
