Kenneth Duane
Tatum
Mar 4, 1965 — Feb 8, 2025
Sand Springs
Kenneth Duane Tatum entered his heavenly home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 59. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. A funeral service celebrating Kenneth's life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 17, at Sand Springs First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Claude Guy and Pastor Rod Thelander officiating. Viewing will take place at the funeral home from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with family greeting friends from 3 to 5 p.m.
Kenneth was born on March 4, 1965, in Wichita, Kansas, to Warren Robert Tatum and Linda Hope (Porter) Tatum. He grew up in Sand Springs and graduated from Charles Page High School, he was voted by his peers as king of his senior class. Kenneth was a talented wrestler, making the All-State team and earning a college wrestling scholarship. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma University and later earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Nazarene University.
Kenneth dedicated many years of his career to the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative, where his excellence and dedication earned him high honors, including several trips around the world as a top salesman.
An avid Oklahoma University football fan, Kenneth was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. He made a point to travel to every game, including bowl games and of course the Red River Rivalry. He was well known among fellow fans for his enthusiastic yelling to disrupt the opponent's offense on third down, earning him the title as the "third down guy." Beyond football, Kenneth also enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and working out at the gym.
Kenneth's priorities were God, family, and friends. His life was a testament to those things. He was a devoted son, known for his kindness, generosity, and care for his loved ones. Kenneth adored his mother, whom he affectionately called "my momma," and was a devoted brother and uncle. He deeply cherished his nieces and nephews, always supporting them in their endeavors.
No one was a better friend than Kenny. He was loyal and always willing to forgive. He was known as "Brother Tatum" in high school because he would go to parties, not to drink, but to make sure everyone got home safe. He often put his friend's needs before his own. Being a good friend was a part of who he was. It was more important to him than money, work, or chasing girls. The first thing that anyone has to say about him is that "Kenny was a great guy, and a good friend."
John 15:13 NLT "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends."
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Warren, in 2023. He is survived by his loving mother, Linda; his brother, Terry R. Tatum; and his cherished niece and nephews: Zachary Tatum and wife, Maci, Kaylee Tatum, and Tucker Tatum.
Kenneth's warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
