Lavenda Joyce Powell passed from this life on April 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel.

Lavenda was a deeply spiritual woman who faithfully studied her Bible each day, even though she did not regularly attend an organized church. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—watching her favorite television shows such as Hudson & Rex, Survivor, and MASH*, collecting fairies, and spending time on TikTok. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was always overjoyed to see them. She also shared a special bond with her two beloved "fur babies," Bella and Mia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wayne Powell; her daughter, Rebecca Joyce Powell; and her son-in-law, Jerry Robinson.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jenny Robinson; her son-in-law, Joe Goodman; her brother, Randy Powell; her grandchildren, Michael Goodman, Nicole Goodman, Skylar Goodman, Carrie Robinson, and J.W. Robinson; and her great-grandchildren, Harper Christopher and Araylia Christopher.

Lavenda's legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her
