Lena Lovell "Linda" Dotson passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the age of 82. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs.
Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Monday, July 28, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service. Viewing will be held Sunday from 1–6 p.m. at the funeral home, with family present to greet friends from 4–6 p.m.
Linda was born January 12, 1943, in Shafter, California, to Sherman Nelmoth Lytle and Mattie Mae (Bowen) Lytle. Raised between Hallett, Oklahoma and Bakersfield, California, Linda's early years were full of movement and family. While living in Tulsa, she met her lifelong love, Charles Rex "Charlie" Dotson, when he moved in next door. The two married on Valentine's Day in 1964 and shared over 61 wonderful years together.
Linda worked at Kress's in downtown Tulsa before beginning a long and cherished career at Long John Silver's in Sand Springs. She was well known and loved by the many customers she greeted with warmth and humor over the years.
Linda loved traveling—especially to Branson and the Smoky Mountains—dining out, watching OKC Thunder games, and never missed a hair appointment. Above all, family was the center of her world. Known affectionately as "Mo-Mo" and "Na-Na," she was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Linda had a heart of gold and a fiery spirit. She spoke her mind, loved fiercely, and stood firm in her convictions. She was a longtime member of Garden Heights Freewill Baptist Church and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mattie Lytle; and siblings: John Lytle, Ramona Cavett, and Irene Venerable.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Dotson; children: Lori Ann Gilstrap and significant other, Paul Hutchison, Cheryl Lynn Dotson and significant other, Bryan Dillard, and Charles William Dotson; grandchildren: Amanda Holland and husband, Cory, Brittany Bagwell and husband, Jake, and Alexis; great-grandchildren: Ryder, Sawyer, and Gentry Bagwell; and siblings: Ivan Lytle, Georgie Beavers and husband, James, and Sharon Southern and husband, Terry.
Linda's legacy of love, strength, and unshakable devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
