Lisa Rae Lowry, a beloved resident of Sand Springs, passed away peacefully at her home on January 13, 2024, at the age of 65. Her life, marked by warmth, generosity, and a free spirit, touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Born on August 17, 1958, in Roseville, California, Lisa grew up in the community and graduated from Oakmont High School. In her youth, she excelled both on the track team and as a dedicated member of the student council. Following her graduation, Lisa embarked on a journey to Hawaii, seeking a small town to call home. Serendipitously, she found Sand Springs on the map and decided to make it her forever home.

A devoted stay-at-home mom, Lisa dedicated her life to her family and extended her nurturing spirit to the community. Partnered with L.D. Williams, she played an integral role at the Shamrock gas station, where she became the heart of the public relations and welcoming committee. Lisa's infectious energy was felt by every customer who came to the station, as she never failed to share a chocolate peppermint patty and a warm greeting.

Working side by side with L.D., Lisa found joy in the simplicity of life and cherished the time spent at the gas station, which became not just a workplace but a hub of social connections. Her welcoming nature and love for conversation made her a beacon of positivity, brightening the days of those around her.

Lisa's life was enriched by her role as a grandmother, relishing in the joy of playing with her grandbabies and indulging in her love for shopping. The gas station wasn't just a place of work for her; it was a vibrant social life where she connected with people from all walks of life.

Known for her selfless nature, Lisa was always ready to extend a helping hand and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her unwavering optimism and encouraging words were a source of strength for those facing challenges, and she had an innate ability to believe that things would work out.

Lisa's free-spirited personality was a testament to her authenticity. She cared little for the opinions of others, embracing life with a calming aura and an enduring sense of peace. In the hearts of those who knew her, Lisa will forever be remembered as a ray of sunshine, a positive force, and a free spirit who touched the lives of many.

Arrangements to celebrate Lisa's life are entrusted to Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects to a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the community she called home.

Lisa Rae Lowry is survived by a devoted circle of loved ones who were cherished members of her life. Her partner, L.D. Williams, stood by her side through thick and thin, sharing in the joys and challenges that life brought their way.

Lisa's children, each a testament to her nurturing spirit, include Eric Overman and his wife, Crystal, residing in Cleveland, OH; Rhiannon Overman of Jenks; Regina Woldridge and her husband, Matt Duerr of Frankfort, IL; Kayla Perigo and her husband, Jerry, of Sand Springs; and Jennifer Lowry also of Sand Springs. Each of her children carries forward the legacy of Lisa's love and warmth.

In addition to her life partner and children, Lisa is survived by her brothers, Tim Burtis of California, and Mike Burtis with his wife, Cindy, of Bedford, IN. Their bond of family endured distances, and Lisa's presence will be deeply missed.

Lisa's legacy further extends to her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life: Laci Chase, Chassis Perigo, Gunner Perigo, Ryland Overman, Joey Overman, Aspen Thomas, Easton Parks, and Shiloh Parks. She leaves behind a lasting imprint on each of their hearts, fostering a sense of love and connection that transcends generations.

While celebrating Lisa's life, it's important to acknowledge that she is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin "Bud" Burtis and Mary Joy (Barber) Burtis and several siblings. As we reflect on her journey, we remember not only the vibrant woman who graced our lives but also the foundation of family that she leaves behind—a testament to the enduring power of love and connection.
