Marcia Lea Coleman

November 23, 1933 – February 17, 2024 (age 90)

Marcia Lea (Ackley) Coleman of Berryhill went to be with the Lord—reunited with her love Charles in Heaven. Marcia was born November 23, 1933 in Keystone, Oklahoma. Marcia graduated from Keystone High School in 1951. Following graduation, she attended Felt and Tarrent Comptometer School. Later that same year, she married Charles Coleman, who remained by her side until his passing in 2020.

Anyone who knew Marcia, knew her greatest passions were her children and her faith. Marcia was a proud mother to her five wonderful children. When she wasn't looking after her family, she was an active member of the church and a faithful servant to the Lord. Marcia taught children's Sunday School classes, first at Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church and later at View Acres Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, and volunteered countless hours fixing meals, or helping those in need.

Not one for idleness, soon after graduating, Marcia went to work for Sears Roebuck and Company. Marcia started as a payroll clerk and rose through the ranks to an Accounting Analyst, a position she would hold until she retired in the nineties.

In retirement, Marcia found little spare time. Five children soon gave way to 12 grandchildren who she doted after—attending school functions, games, concerts and serving as chauffeur and babysitter on more than one occasion. Marcia relished in her role as a grandmother and was adored by her grandchildren.

In what little spare time Marcia did have, she enjoyed a good crossword puzzle or working on one of her beautiful paintings. She also enjoyed travel with Charles and visits with family and friends. Marcia also served as host to an ever-growing family, opening her home and kitchen to her loved ones. No matter the holiday, her family knew they were in for a treat when going to Marcia's house.

Marcia leaves a legacy of compassion and kindness. Her spirit and devotion live on in her family and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Marcia is preceded in death by her father Thomas Reed Ackley, her mother Eulalah Beatrice (Lord) Ackley, her husband Charles Coleman, and four siblings. She is survived by daughter Rebecca Baldwin of Overland Park, KS; daughter Elizabeth Apker (Michael) of Tulsa, OK; son Chuck Coleman (Linda) of Nowata, OK; daughter Denise Woods (Mark) of Spring, TX; son Jon Coleman (Kelly) of Tulsa, OK; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
