Margie Shipley passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 92. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

She was born on February 2, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William and Lillian Robertson. Margie spent her early years in Westville, Oklahoma, where she attended Westville schools.

As a teenager, Margie traveled to California, where she met the love of her life, Gerald, on a blind double date. Although Gerald had originally been paired with another young woman that evening, he and Margie quickly discovered a special connection. They were married shortly thereafter on January 7, 1951, while Gerald was serving in the United States Navy and stationed in California.

Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on family, love, and devotion. During their time together, they made their home in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and California.

Margie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She especially loved gardening, with a fondness for yellow roses, and, in her younger years, enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was known for her strong sense of punctuality and often said, "Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable."

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian Robertson; her beloved husband, Gerald Shipley; and her son, Ricky Wayne Shipley.

Margie is survived by her sons, Billy Ray Shipley and Jerry Robert Shipley; her daughters, Sheryl Susann Seabolt and Tamara Lynn Rhoda; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 6½ great-great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service on Saturday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 5, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6
