A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend, Martha's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She attended Onapa schools, a community between Checotah and Eufaula. A friendship with Herman Franklin Fairchild's sister led to their union on May 1, 1948, in Checotah. They lived in Checotah and Texas, before settling in Sand Springs in1954, where they raised their children: Eddie, Sharon, Kathy, Evelyn, and Wes. Together, they raised a beautiful family and built a lifetime of memories. Martha made sure breakfast with homemade biscuits were on the table for Herman and the family every morning without fail, and homemade biscuits were available for lunch and dinner as well. Martha was known for her warmth, generosity, and hospitality, as everyone was always welcomed into her home and fed before they left.
Martha's life was enriched by simple joys. She found solace and contentment in tending to her yard, gardening, and spending time outdoors camping and fishing. Camping trips to Molly Brown campground were annual highlights for the family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Showcasing her creativity and attention to detail, Martha's talents extended to quilting and embroidery.
A devout member of Hope of Glory Church in Sand Springs, Martha's faith was central to her life. She was affectionately known as "Grandma" to the entire congregation, reflecting the warmth and nurturing spirit she exuded to all who knew her.
Martha's greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother. Affectionately known as "Nanny" or "Grandma," she showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, leaving an indelible mark on each of their lives.
Martha's legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished by her children: Sharon Moore and husband, Andrew of Sand Springs, Evelyn Williamson and husband, Dan of Tulsa, and Wes Fairchild and wife, Cindy of Sand Springs; daughter-in-law, Shirley Fairchild of Appleton, WI; , as well as her grandchildren: Dwayne Fairchild and wife, Melissa, Jason Fairchild and wife, Kristi, Travis Fairchild and wife, Amy, Sheila Moore, Derin Dilbeck and wife, Elisha, and John Williamson and wife, Kayley; great-grandchildren: Katelyn Perry and husband, Steve, Brandon Fairchild, Kristian Fairchild and wife, Makenzie, Anthony Fairchild, Alex Fairchild, Kaydee Fairchild, Tyler Dilbeck, Emma Dilbeck, Ava Dilbeck, Hannah Williamson, Lily Williamson, and Naomi Williamson; great-great-granddaughter: Scarlet Fairchild; three great-great-grandchildren on the way; and longtime caregiver, Crystal Griffin.
