Mary Anne Brustick, cherished mother, partner, and friend, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be remembered. Born on June 17, 1963, in Marysville, California, to Charles Anthony Brustick and Maxine Joy (Webster) Brustick, Mary's life journey was a testament to compassion, acceptance, and unyielding love.

Moving to Sperry, Oklahoma, during her childhood, Mary graduated from Sperry High School in 1981. She embraced the role of a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to raising her daughters—Sharlene, Crystal, and Shadawna—in Tulsa. Her home was a haven of joy, creativity, and unwavering support for her family.

Mary found fulfillment in nurturing young minds at the Gathering Place's Discovery Center, leaving an indelible mark with her infectious enthusiasm and genuine care for others. Her joyous moments revolved around reading, doodling, coloring, and creating cherished memories with her children. Alongside her partner, Harold Dickerson, she reveled in simple pleasures like watching movies and occasional trips to the casino, relishing every moment shared.

Known for her playful, kind-hearted nature, Mary embodied acceptance and non-judgmental love for all. Her capacity for boundless kindness and her genuine, sweet demeanor touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Music was her sanctuary, and she found solace in the melodies of heavy metal, particularly the sounds of Metallica and Michael Jackson. Turning up the volume while dancing and cleaning her home was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

Mary found solace near water, drawn to its tranquility and serenity. Her life epitomized an appreciation for life's simple joys and an ability to find beauty in every moment.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and acceptance, survived by her daughters; Sharlene Newnum of Tulsa, Crystal Brooks and husband, John of Sand Springs, and Shadawna Newnum and husband, Josh Plakio of Sand Springs; grandson, Hayden Brooks of Sand Springs, and extended family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Maxine Brustick, as well as her siblings: Rick Shanahan, Laura Morehead, and Karen Shanahan.

Mary Anne Brustick's absence leaves a void, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched with her gentle nature, infectious laughter, and boundless love.

A celebration of Mary's life will take place on Saturday, January 6, to honor the remarkable woman whose impact will endure through the ages. Contact the family to receive more information.

Rest in peace, dear Mary. Your love will echo in our hearts eternally.
