Myra Nell
Lane
Apr 2, 1940 — Feb 15, 2022
Tulsa
Myra Nell Lane departed this life on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at OSU Medical Center, Tulsa, at the age of 81. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, February 21, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.
The daughter of Elmer Leslie Carter and Sammie Mae (Gentry) Davis was born April 2, 1940, in Antlers. The family later moved to Coolidge, AZ, where she would meet the love of her life, Earnest Dwight "Chink" Lane. Chink worked as a welder and the family moved around quite a bit before settling in Sand Springs. Myra worked as a nurse aide and med aide at Oak Dale Manor for many years before retiring.
Myra was lovingly known as "Granny Nub" by her grandkids, and the many adopted grandchildren that came through her door. She always kept the kids in line, but they all loved and respected her in return. In her younger years, Myra enjoyed going to the Mid-South Wrestling events in Tulsa. She loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and watching the birds especially the hummingbirds. She also looked forward to her soap operas and did not like being interrupted. She was a feisty, ornery firecracker that got sweeter with age. Myra will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chink; daughter, Brenda Sue Lane; her parents; and brothers: Danny and Bobby Carter.
Survivors include her children: Cyndi Patterson and husband, Larry of Sand Springs, Pattie Pitts and husband, Jim of Tulsa, Randy Lane of Tulsa, and Linda Segura of Coolidge, AZ; siblings: Ada Culwell, Patsy Lay, and Sharon Gill all of Arizona, and David Carter of New Mexico; grandchildren: Patrick, Saresa, Cammy, Phillip, Tina, and Courtney; great-grandchildren: Stephen, Brittany, Christopher, Kyle, Jessika, Zakary, Dakota, and Jakob; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
