Nancy Ruth
Kelley Jordan
Jan 4, 1943 — Mar 30, 2025
Sand Springs
Nancy Ruth Kelley Jordan entered her heavenly home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the age of 82. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
A funeral service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service, with her brother, Pat Kelley, officiating.
Nancy was born on January 4, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ervin Leslie Kelley and Nell Rose (Jones) Kelley. She graduated from Charles Page High School in 1961. A devoted and resilient mother, she raised five children on her own, providing them with love, strength, and guidance.
Determined to further her education and pursue her passion for helping others, Nancy attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and graduated in 1985 as a registered nurse. Her career spanned numerous hospitals in Edmond, McAlester, Atoka, Sapulpa, Tulsa, and Crosby, Texas, where she worked in the burn unit, pediatrics, and as a charge nurse. Nancy was deeply respected by her colleagues and formed many cherished friendships throughout her career.
Nancy had a vibrant personality and a love for life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed shopping and had a special fondness for jewelry. Estate sales and pawn shops were among her favorite places to visit, always on the lookout for a hidden treasure. She loved to travel and embraced adventure wherever she went. An accomplished seamstress, she sewed many of her own clothes and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting alongside her beloved mother. She also had a passion for canning, preserving the flavors of the seasons with care and dedication.
Feisty, strong-willed, and intelligent, Nancy possessed a keen sense of perception and was an excellent judge of character. She had a remarkable ability to detect dishonesty and was never one to hide her feelings—if she didn't like you, you knew it. Yet, those she loved and cherished knew her as a fiercely loyal and devoted friend, always ready to offer support and wisdom.
Nancy is preceded in death by her son, Mark Kelley Jordan; her parents, Ervin and Nell Kelley; and her grandson, Joseph Anthony Long.
She is survived by her loving children: Suzanne Jordan-Simmons and husband, Scott, of Tulsa; David Bradford Lytle of Sand Springs; Sharon Leigh Lytle-Long of McAlester; and Leslie Lytle-Mace and husband, Kent, of McAlester. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Dawn Long-Spears, Amy Leigh Long, Kaylan Diane Womack, David Jordan Womack, Heath Christian Jordan Simmons, Sean Lee Grant Simmons, and Brittany Lytle; and great-grandchildren: Nadia Lime, Dominic LeFlore, Daylon LeFlore, Lexy Long-Drake, Kyle Long-Drake, Brooklyn Jo Simpson, Zoey Jo Long-Kerns, Addison Maleia Womack, Daeson Long, Austin Tripp, and Kaislee Tripp.
Nancy is also survived by her beloved siblings: Joan Leslie Reynolds of Sand Springs; Steve James Kelley and wife, Barbara, of Harrison, Arkansas; and Patrick Kenneth Kelley and wife, Barbara, of Kellyville. She shared a special bond with her best friend, Bobby Phipps, who was a cherished presence in her life.
Nancy's legacy of love, strength, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
