Nina Aldene (Luster) Foster entered her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the age of 84. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 16, at Allen Free Will Baptist Church, Sapulpa, with Pastor Kenny Myers officiating. The service may viewed online at www.facebook.com/allenchurchsapulpa . Nina will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with family greeting friends 5-7 p.m.

Nina was born August 19, 1938, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Alvin E. Luster and Nina Belle (Dent) Luster. Nina was raised in Guthrie and Turley where her family had three horses.  She grew to adore horses and all animals. On May 26, 1956, the day after Nina graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, she married her high school sweetheart, Joe Lee Foster, at the Turley Assembly of God. They moved to California where their daughter, Julie, was born, and Nina worked at Capitol Records. They would later make their way back to Oklahoma where they made their home in the communities of Tulsa and Berryhill before settling outside of Sapulpa for the past 20 years. Nina held several jobs over the years outside of the home including her care as a nurse's aide and working at a paint company. She was an excellent homemaker and took pride in caring for her family.

Joe and Nina enjoyed performing gospel and country music together, often performing at area libraries including Maxwell Park Library where he played fiddle, and she would sing. She also played the piano. They spent many evenings getting together with friends and family to play music.

Nina welcomed everyone with her infectious smile, and she gave the best hugs. She had a gentle heart and could have a sharp tongue at times, but she was always fair. Nina loved to cook and collected many treasured recipes over the years. The smell of homemade biscuits often drifted through her home to pull you out of bed in the morning. Nina cherished time when she was surrounded by her family and was known simply as "Auntie" to her many nieces and nephews. They also enjoyed the outdoors relaxing and camping.

Nina enjoyed sewing and crocheting, gifting her family with many afghans and dolls throughout the years. She collected angels, and all year long loved to watch Hallmark Christmas movies. Her favorite Disney character began as Mickey Mouse, but Cinderella took over as her favorite collecting countless memorabilia.

Nina was a faithful Christian and member of Allen Free Will Baptist Church in Sapulpa. She often arrived early to sit and listen to music practice.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Foster; daughter, Julie Foster; and brother, Jimmy Luster.

Survivors include her children: Sherry Gregory and husband, Wayne, Danny Foster and wife, Cina, Robert Foster and wife, Sharon, and Tammy Jackson and husband, Mike; brothers: Robert Luster and Elvin Luster and wife, Donna; grandchildren: Crystal Brooks and husband, John, Shadawna Newnum and Josh Plakio, Mendy Kennedy, Nicole Lehman and husband, Jesse, Daniel Foster and wife, Kyla, Scott Foster and wife, Stephanie, Jessica Gregory, and Conley Jackson; and great-grandchildren: Hayden Brooks, Dominik Foster, Wesley Groll, Madisen Kennedy, Aliyah Lehman, Jordan Kennedy, Noah Wilson, Everett Foster; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members that will miss Nina dearly. She also leaves behind her precious dog, Bella, and her beloved cats: Shadow and Kitty Kitty.
